Hit or Miss

It seems like every few weeks I'll go through 'shoe phases'. For a few weeks at a time all I where is flats, then for another few weeks I'll be on this high heel kick, and on to a boot-wearing obsession. And then the cycle starts all over again. Flats, heels, boots. Flats, heels boots. Flats, heels, boots.

Lately, I'm all about heels! Heels to work, heels out to dinner, heels to the movies (however, I am NEVER in the mood to wear heels to classes).

During this heel binge I've been all about platform heels, they are my addiction! Especially these three... (WARNING: I literally get compliments at least once every single time i wear these! So if you don't like attention or compliments, do not wear any of these ;) )

Jessica Simpson Collection, Genaviv in Cognac. They also come in white, black, and dark chocolate, and they are to die for! They have a 5" heel, yet somehow they are unusually comfortable and light-weight. Nordstrom, $89. 5" spike heel, 1.5" platfom.

xhilaration Tina cut-out sandals in Brown, also available in a pretty champagne color and black. These are killer! Target, $19.99. 4.5" Thick heel, 3/4" platform.

And last but not least, another amazing and amazingly affordable pair of Target heels! Xhilaration Tobbyn Sandal in Blue Print. I love these because they combine three big trends in one! Prints, Peep-toes and platforms :) Target, $19.99. 4" thick heel, 1" platform.

Happy Fourth :)

I just found out I got 95/100 on my Italian exam! Benissimo!
I can't wait to leave for Italy <333

I found the place I know I belong, it's an amazing feeling. I can't wait until my life leads me there, whether for graduate or ungraduate work. It's called Art Center College of Design. Not only is the curriculum seem amazing and unique, it's in an amazing location - a hilltop in Pasadena with an incredible view!

If you just hold in your breath

'til you come back up in full
hold in your breath
'til you thought it through.

The new Regina Spektor album is amazing <33 Beautiful, haunting, provoking and very quirky. My favorite tracks off the album so far are Genius Next Door and Laughing with. It's worth the money.

For the past year or so, I've been really inspired by Venessa Hudgens and her bohemian/rocker/chic look. The other day I stumbled across InStyle UK at the bookstore, and her cover caught my eye - it's gorgeous!

PS Bravo's NYC Prep is a tacky Gossip Girls knock-off. I'd rather waste my time rotting my mind with Daisy of Love

A thousand flowers could bloom

Listening to- Glory Box by Portishead

I finished another quarter of school yesterday and it feels amazing. No school for 12 days when I have to go back for summer session.

5 Things on my mind

1. I love Lady Gaga's The Fame CD. I was such a Lady Gaga hater initially. However, I am now a huge fan! I definitely think it's the best Pop CD I've heard since the 90s pop glory days of Britney, Christina, and N*SYNC
2. Another of one of best friends is moving. First Laura after the 6th grade haha, then Raul last month to Portland, and now Cassi leaves for Chico, Ca on Friday. So sad!
3. I can't wait to leave for Italy on August 25th, I'll be there for three weeks :)
4. I no longer have any desire to be a dentist. I could do it if I wanted too, but studying science can be creatively suffocating. Between that and living in the Inland Empire, I know that I need creativity, art, and culture in my life to be happy. I really am learning a lot about myself in college haha
5. I saw Taking Back Sunday sidestage twice last week. Definitely something I've dreamed of since I was 14. Raul is on tour with them, so I owe him a big big thanks!

Good Reads

Listening to: "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" - Cage the Elephant

I'm taking a comparative literature course this quarter, it's allowed to fall in love with reading again! Not that I ever really 'unloved' (haha) reading novels and short story collections, but I always had my nose buried in my textbooks. However, this made me make time to read some more enjoyable pieces.

SOO, if you are looking for a good book may I recommend;

Ports of Call by Amin Maalouf
Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri
A Night in Acadie by Kate Chopin
Behind Closed Doors by Maria Messina

Picked up Laura Mercier Flawless Face Kit today at Sephora. I've been wanting to try her make-up for awhile now. I see great reviews online and my beautiful friend Laura uses it and swears by it! This was such a great deal, I figured if I was ever going to try it, it should be now! Can't wait to see if it works...
